Description

This is the most basic recipe for chili

Chili keeps well frozen, so go ahead, cook extra and freeze some portions for future meals.

4 lb    ground beef  
2 cups    chopped onions  
2 cloves    garlic, finely chopped  
1 Tbs    salt  
6 Tbs    chili powder  
2 tsp    paprika  
2 tsp    ground black pepper  
2 quarts    canned tomatoes, with juice (equivalent to 8 cups)  
Methods/steps
1 Use a 5 quart heavy saucepan to brown the beef with the onions and garlic. Drain. Add all ingredients and bring to a boil.
2 Reduce heat and simmer for about 15 minutes. Serve warm, topped with cheese, crackers and chopped green onions.
