Honey Wheat Bread

Description

This recipe is for your slow cooker. You will need a 3½ or 5 quart slow cooker. Use an electric mixer or food processor.

  • 2 cups milk, scalded
  • 2 Tbs vegetable oil
  • 1/4 cup honey
  • 3/4 tsp salt
  • 1 pack active dry yeast
  • 3 cup whole wheat flour
  • 3/4 cup all-purpose flour (up to 1 cup)
Methods/steps
  1. Preheat your slow cooker on high for 30 minutes
  2. Combine warm, not hot, milk, oil, honey, salt, yeast, and half the flour.
  3. Beat well for about 2 minutes. Add remaining flour, mix well.
  4. Place dough in well greased bread cake pan and cover. Let stand for 5 minues.
  5. Place pan in crockpot. Cover and bake on high setting for 2 to 3 hours.
  6. Remove pan and uncover. Let stand 5 minutes. Remove bread from the pan and serve warm.
Additional Tips

Substitute scalded fresh milk with reconstituted dry milk, warm.
