Strawberry Juice and Skim Milk

Description

Strawberries, or any other fruit, juiced and combined with skim milk make a healthy drink, much lighter in sugar and fat than the usual milk shakes and smoothies.

  • 2 lb strawberries
  • 4 Tbs fresh orange juice
  • 2 cups skim milk
Methods/steps
  1. Wash the strawberries in a colander under running water, avoid bruising, or by dipping them quickly in cold water, shaking slightly to remove sand. Remove hulls.
  2. Juice the strawberries. Use best a juicing machine, if using a blender get the juice through a sieve. With a wooden spoon, blend together strawberry juice and skim milk.
  3. To enhance flavor, add the orange juice right before serving.
Additional Tips

Substitute orange juice with lemon juice. You could also try substituting strawberries with raspberries, or some other berries.
